Eitaro Sohonpo Product Testing

We are currently looking for people to take part in a focus group for three of Eitaro Sohonpo's products.

You will be provided with samples of "Amaou (Strawberry) Fruit Juice Candy," "Sweet Lip Yuzu" and "Honey and Ginger Candy."

We will ask you to taste all three products and then to answer a short questionnaire consisting of approximately twenty questions about your opinion of the flavor and any suggestions you may have for selling them in the United States. As a token of our appreciation, all participants will receive a $10 Amazon Gift Card.

We also ask that participants take photos of the products during the tasting process. Those who want to may post those photos on social media such as Instagram (optional).

Please note that these photos as well as your answers may be used by our client and Japan Spark on associated websites, social media and print etc.

Eitaro Sohonpo first opened its doors in Tokyo's Nihombashi during the Edo period over 200 years ago. What began with the signature candy products has grown and developed over the years as the company continues to prioritize flavor and quality in its sweets with a heavy focus on production methods and carefully selected ingredients.

This delicious candy is made from Fukuoka Prefecture's famous Amaou strawberries. The fruit is pureed and processed using our special technique to bring out the natural flavor and umami taste of our ingredients. We make our puree with a brand-new method that combines the use of superheated steam and gentle, non-bladed centrifugal separation.

The more you suck this candy, the more Amaou's sweet taste will fill your mouth. This candy contains no artificial colors or flavorings, so you can enjoy the true taste of the fruit.

Sweet Lip Yuzu has a honey-like consistency and comes in a tube that resembles lip gloss. The yuzu juice comes from fruit in Kochi prefecture and has a refreshing citrus scent and slightly sour taste.

How to Eat

Although you can enjoy it as-is, Sweet Lip Yuzu also makes a delicious drink if you mix it with water or soda!

Ginger has been popular for a long time, and our Honey and Ginger Candy combines the spicy ginger of Kochi prefecture with the mellow taste of honey from the Yamada Apiary in Okayama prefecture. The end result is a hard candy with a truly delectable flavor!
